Dear myhibs and dervishes of Gjirokastra and the whole south of Albania! Like today, 77 years ago, Father Qamil Gjini left this world, the one who served for several decades, in the tekke of Melani, in that blessed place, in that former Illyrian civilization. As today, 77 years ago, the Tekke of  melan was filled with clerics, myhibs and believers from Libohova, Gjirokastra, Përmeti, Delvina and Vlora, in respect of that son of Labëria, who kept alive the spirit of our Piri, Haxhi Bektash Veliu. In the memory of Bektashi history, but also that of Libohova and Gjirokastra, the memory of father Qamil will always awaken the desire and will get closer to the bounties of God Almighty! Baba Qamil Gjini, was the missionary in Melan’s tekke exactly in the biggest events of Albania in the years of our nation’s war for independence. He joined this war like all other Bektashi clerics, turning the Melan tekke into a center of patriotism. At the same time, the tekke gathered in its square and cafe-chimney, Bektashis and Christians, proving that for our tariqat, brotherhood as sacred as love for the Creator. Not just on holidays, but also in troubles and worries, Christian believers, colaborate with father Qamil and always received his blessings. Although burned by the Greek in 1914, Melan’s tekke was raised from the believers there, who removed bread of their children’s mouths to share with father Qamil. In the years that followed, this object of the 800-year-old order, grew and inspired love among Albanians, love between brothers of the same blood, eternal love for the homeland. Thousand brothers! The name and work of father Qamil Gjini, has long exceeded the physical boundaries of Melan tekke. They have joined the major work of all that constellation of eminent men, who saw the fate of the nation, always closely connected with the love of God. The name of father Qamil today stands full of dignity alongside the names of father Selim Gjirokastra, father Hajdër Gjoksi, father Ahmet Turani, father Nedin Gllava, father Ali Tomorri, father Ahmet Koshtani, as well as hundreds of other dervishes and fathers, whose lives received meaning through their sacrifices in the path of Hak. Honor and respect for that bright constellation of Bektashis! God bless you all! Amin! Bektashi World Grandfather, His Grace, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj. “
