Today, in the premises of the Bektashi World Headquarters, the Holy See, under the special care of the World Leader, His Grace Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, was celebrated the ceremony of Ashura, a traditional Bektashi rite, which venerately commemorates the hero, Imam Hyseni and his 72 martyrs, who sacrificed themselves, to the point of human, sublime sacrifice, for the protection of the ideals of life.
The World Leader, His Grace, Haxhi Dede Baba Edmond Brahimaj, after the keynote address, where he wished the believers and Albanians for more peace, love, brotherhood to walk in the way of God, conducted a special ritual in memory and honor of Imam Hysen and the 72 martyrs of Karbala.
The ceremony continued with a program, historical-religious theme, organized by the Artistic Union of the Albanian Nation, Decorated "Knight of the Order of Skanderbeg", laureate of the medal "Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg", with President Mr. Azgan Haklaj "Grand Master" and Secretary General Mrs. Enida Çami "Great Master"; with epic, historical programs that evoked through folklore, the history of our nation, its events. In this program, of the Artistic Union, part of it, were also the well-known artists, Kastiot Tusha, Manjola Nallbani, well-known actors of the National Theater, Mrs. Desara Xhagolli, Mr. Dritan Boriçi, artistic groups from various ensembles, from Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, etc., led by the moderator, Mrs. Enida Çami "The great master". After the concert of the National Artistic Union, the ceremony continued with the taste of Ashura dessert, symbolic of a new day, with optimism, blessed by the World Grandfather, His Holiness, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj Exchange of visits. The day of Ashura comes after 10 days of fasting, during which the sacrifice of the Bektashi believers is commemorated. The whole Muslim world remembers this day as the most painful event in the history of mankind. The origin of the holiday starts from Iraq. In the plain of Karbala, 1400 years ago, where the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, Imam Husayn, was massacred, along with 72 martyrs. The day of Ashura is known as the day of the martyrdom of Imam Husayn, who was surrounded in the desert of Karbala by an aggressive army, along with 72 of his companions was martyred. The day of Ashura is the last day of Matem or the fasting and sacrifice of the Bektashis.
10 days, devotion, for all the prophets. The first night. Dedication to suffering, prophets: Adam, Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses and Christ; the second day, devotion, to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), the third day, Imam Ali, the fourth day, Imam Hasan, the fifth day, the birth and life of Imam Husayn, the sixth day, his departure from Medina to Mecca, the seventh day, the assassination of Myslym Achilles and his two sons, Myftar, Ibrahim, the eighth day, the departure of Imam Husayn, to Kufa, the ninth day, his arrival in Karbala. On the tenth night, his martyrdom and that of the other martyrs who shed blood and fell heroically, went to Ihet, drenched and thirsty. These days, everywhere, all over the world, no water is drunk.
