The Peace Summit of Southeast Europe on the topic: Peace, Security and Human Development in Southeast Europe opened in Tirana.
At the opening of the summit it was said that the main goal is peace and security in the region.
This summit, which will last until the 27th of this month, is organized by the Universal Peace Federation, as part of an ongoing series of summits around the world that support interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal values.
The summit will include the launch in Europe and the Middle East of the High Council for International Peace (ICRC), a global association of current and former heads of state and government committed to dialogue and cooperation for the sake of peace and human development. In addition, the summit will include assemblies of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace and the Interfaith Association for Peace and Development.
Senior leaders of states but also those who have had a major impact on important decisions in the Balkans, including current and former heads of state and government, parliamentarians, religious leaders, women leaders and civil society leaders, finding solutions towards long-term peace and sustainable development in Southeast Europe and beyond.
Among the participants will be the World Leader, His Holiness Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi, Prime Ministerial candidate Albin Kurti, Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferri and parliamentarians, religious leaders, women leaders and leaders of civil society
The Universal Peace Federation has been active in Albania since 2005, when it was inaugurated by its Founders as part of their world tour. The organization has developed many peacebuilding programs in Albania, Kosovo, and the Balkan Region, including parliamentarians, religious leaders, women leaders, and young people.
Recently FPU has organized Peace Councils in 61 municipalities in Albania, with Ambassadors for Peace from various political, religious and professional backgrounds.
The South East Europe Peace Summit will bring together world leaders whose individual, collective experience, wisdom and depth are necessary if we will build a world of mutual understanding, lasting peace and prosperity for all.
