Today is a day marked for millions of Bektashis around the world, as we commemorate the eighth anniversary of the death of Haxhi Dede Reshat Bardhi, the former Bektashi World Leader and cleric who has the indisputable merit of reviving this faith and reviving the first buildings after the political changes of 1990. The more the years go by, the closer we have, in our minds and hearts, Dede Reshat Bardhi, we go and talk to him at his grave, where we get light and hope for the steps of our work every day.
We are expecting today on this marked day Bektashi clerics and believers from all over Albania, from Kosovo, from Macedonia, to the United States of America, Canada and other countries where our believers live and work. We have taken all measures to be as good as possible on this blessed day, to gather together, to talk and to ask for the blessing of the Bektashi World Leader, His Grace, Hajji Dede Edmond Brahimaj, of other clergy, of the myhibs who they will be present in this spirit gathering... And so, we will be filled with hope and devotion to walk further in the path of Haxhi Bektash Veliu. Short paragraph FROM THE LIFE OF DEDE RESHAT
Reshat Bardhi was born on March 4, 1935, in the village of Lusën in Kukës, where at an early age he began to learn to read and write in Albanian and Arabic. In 1944, the head of the family, Sinani, took the road and settled in Tirana. Reshati continues his lessons at school while he spends his free time studying the Qur'an ... In the early 50s of the last century, Reshat Bardhi attracted the attention of the World Leader of that time Ahmet Myftari, who saw the boy from Lusna distant, not only mystical and religious inclinations but also examples of a deep allegiance. He becomes the spiritual leader. In August 1954, Reshat Bardhi dressed the uniform as a dervish. In 1958 he was interned in the village of Drizar in Mallakastra, Grandfather Ahmet Myftari, together with dervishes Reshat Bardhi, where they stayed until 1967. In 1967, dervishes Reshat Bardhi experienced in Tirana other physical and spiritual pains working until 1991 as a manual worker, never losing faith in God. With the revival of religion in 1991, he reorganized Bektashism in Albania. At the VI Bektashi Congress in 1993, Reshat Bardhi was proclaimed the World Bektashi Grandfather. He has participated in conferences and international meetings of high religious levels such as: On March 22, 1991, he received at the Holy See of the Bektashi World Headquarters, Mother Teresa; in November 1991, together with the first Albanian Muslim pilgrims, goes to Mecca; in February 1992 goes to the Bektashi community in Detroit, USA, where he is expected by Baba Rexhebi who had established the first Bektashi tekke in Detroit; in May 1993 received by the former chairman of the Alevi-Bektashis of Turkey, Mr. Bedri Nojani; in August 1993 he visits the tekke-museum of Haxhi Bektash, where he is received at a special lunch by the Mayor of the city, Haxhi Bektash; in 1994-1995 he went twice to Iran where he was received by the top leader of the Ahl al-Bayt foundation, Mr. Hossein Miri, as well as senior religious figures from Iran, India and Kuwait; in March 2001 invited to a special audience by Pope John Paul's at the Vatican; in August 2002, in Haxhi Bektash, Turkey, he is received by the then Turkish Prime Minister, Ecevit; in October 2002 participates in the OSCE-ODIR International Conference in Azerbaijan; in October 2003 he was invited to the Vatican, where he attended the consecration ceremony of Mother Teresa; in May 2006 he received at the Holy See of the World Headquarters in Tirana, the Secretary of the Vatican City State, Mr. Xhovani Lajola; in June 2006, he received the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Mr. Bylent Arinc, at the Holy See in Tirana, where he presented the decoration "For Outstanding Peace Services" of the Turkish Parliament to the Supreme Leader; in August 2006, participated in the World Conference of Religious Leaders in Kyoto, Japan; in July 2007, was received in Pristina by Mr. Kushner; in October 2007, in Istanbul, he is received by the Muslim leader of Turkey, Prof. Ali Bartokogly and the Chief Mufti of Istanbul Mustafa Cagrici; in November 2007 he is expected to be received by the Prime Minister of Macedonia; in September 2008 was received by the Prime Minister of Turkey Taip Erdogan; .

Today, is a marked day for us. In the 800-year history of the Bektashi faith, the name of dede Reshat Bardhi will undoubtedly remain, synonymous with an excellent survival. While in the bright pantheon of fathers and dedelers, he always stands inspiring, to the millions of Bektashi believers and followers. Few like him, in the turbulent course of events in Albania and the Balkans, after the 60s of the last century, not only knew how to orient themselves, not only did not allow the physical and moral oppression of those who believed in God, but became itself an institution of universal mercy. .... In the infamous year 1967, exactly in these important and almost decisive moments for the fate of Bektashism in Albania, I had the great fortune to meet this rare mystic. Dede Ahmet Myftari, my ‘father ’s first cousin of Hyseni, came to our house in October 1967, accompanied by dede Reshati. ... In the early 1990s, my whole life relied on the attention of dede Reshati ... Such was this care for me, on the night of March 22, 1991, as I gave up with great joy, that I would serve in the streets of Hak ...
