Suka Tekke is located on a beautiful hill to the right of the Suka-Berat highway, Suka Administrative Unit. Municipality of Këlcyra. Founded by father Ali Bubësi. This tekke was run by the same father of the Prishta-Suka tekke. Historical sources indicate that the tekke in question was burned in 1914 by Greek andartes. Its reconstruction was done by dervishes in 1920. After the first Bektashi congress in January 1921, in the tekke of Prisha – Skrapar, the elected paternal council began work in the tekke of Suka for the direction and reorganization of Bektashism in Albania. The First Headquarters for the direction and organization of Bektashism in Albania was established here. Here began the publication of the Bektashi newspaper “Reform” during the years 1922 – 1923, under the direction of father Ali Tomorri. He visited Suire in 1930. The door of this tekke has been open to people in need, for shelter and food without any distinction. In 1940, the tekke was led by: dervishes Abas Hasan, dervishes Ibrahim Saliko, dervishes Mustafa Sulo, dervishes Islam Adem, dervishes Ethem Pelo, dervishes Muhamed Sheme, dervishes Ali Ahmet, dervishes Hysni Velil. Whereas in 1950 the following served: father Abedin Agaj, dervishes Kasëm Plashniku, dervishes Esat Lazarati and in 1955, father Abdurraman Hoxha. The tekke was very rich with large properties. In 1967 this tekke was closed and used as an office, cultural center, warehouse, later it was turned into a health center: hospital, maternity hospital, pharmacy, etc. As the roof burned in the back year of the 1997 transition and collapsed. The people of the area and all the believers swear “may Father Xhaferi help us”. The tomb of Suka was rebuilt by the good man, the respected businessman Arjan Haxhiaj, July 2009. It was a beautiful magnificent rectangular tekke, located on a dominant hill all over the plain around Suka to Këlcyra in front of Mount Trebeshina. Near the old ruins is erected the new symmetrical dome-type tomb with the symbol of the Bektashi taxh.
Greetings of the Bektashi World Leader, His Grace, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj.
Dear Bektashi sisters and brothers, inseparable friends of the historical tekke of Suka!
Thank you for coming to this blessed place to share the joy of this pilgrimage together!
May the Exalted Lord and the trusts of the fathers of Suka, help you in every step you take!
The Suka tekke, founded by Father Tahiri at the end of the eighteenth century, was undoubtedly built by the contribution of your grandparents, because at the foundation of our tariqat is precisely brotherhood. Bektashism, as the first pearl in its necklace has the love of God and homeland. But you can love neither God nor the homeland, if you do not want the brother you have on your side, be his brother of Hak.
This love for each other has kept alive the Bektashi brotherhood, causing the spirit of Haxhi Bektash Veli to keep standing not just a tariqah, but our entire national aspiration. Therefore, in the time of the Ottoman Empire, the gangs of freedom fighters left this tekke and fought as far as Gjirokastra. Therefore from this tekke, the warriors of Permet set out and fought against the hordes of Greek andarts. Therefore, dervishes, fathers and myhib, were never absent from this tekke in defense of the fate of Albania.
Sisters and brothers!
Today we remember the history of this tekke not only to brag, but to be as aware as possible of the work of our ancestors. Today we live in other times and we all see that life rises through sacrifices. We, as the Bektashi Holy See, will strive to bring back to this tekke, the glory of the past, convinced that its resurrection will be a special joy for all of us, together. Therefore I thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming here today, to talk and find peace near this tomb!
We used to gather more in the weather, for good, in the tekke and at each other, because we are brothers and sons of Haxhi Bektash Veliu.
A special thanks goes today to your brother and ours, Mr. Ylli Kasa, who for years, lives every day with the troubles of this tekke!
May the High Lord help us all!
Amin!
