On Monday, July 5, 2021, a delegation of theologians from the Swiss capital, Bern, paid a visit to the Bektashi World Headquarters, the Holy See, in Tirana, where they was received by the Bektashi World Leader, His Grace, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj.
Grandfather Dede Edmond Brahimaj, after welcoming them, introduced his friends to the spiritual journey of the Bektashis from 1930, when the World Center was established in Tirana and until today, and also informed them about the countless sacrifices of Bektashi clerics their contribution to freedom and independence, as well as the wisdom to approach the Creator with devotion.
The grandfather also paid a visit to the premises of the Odeon (religious-cultural center), where he acquainted them closely with the museum of Bektashism, the library, the archive, the photo library / phonotheque, the gallery, etc.
The leaders of the delegation, after expressing their gratitude for the reception, praised the contribution of the Bektashi World Headquarters, both in the context of religious harmony, interfaith dialogue, and the challenges of freedom of religion and belief, which, they stressed, can be taken also as a model from many European countries.
The delegation which was accompanied by Mr. Rubin Gjeci, imam in Friborg and responsible for Interfaith Dialogue at the Forum for Organizing the Religious Life of Muslims in Switzerland, is paying a few days visit to Albania and Kosovo, to get better acquainted with the model of interfaith coexistence among Albanians, conducted visits and meetings in religious communities and educational institutions established by them.
