Today, on August 10, 2021, the Bektashi World Leader, His Holiness, Hajji Dede Edmond Brahimaj, received in a meeting the delegation from the United Arab Emirates, led by H.E.Mr.. Ali Rasheed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Group on Defense, Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs of the National Federal Council and Chairman of the International Center of Excellence for Combating Violent Extremism (Hedayah).
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Ahmed Alqasimi, Executive Director-Hedayah; Mr. Khaled Alkaabi, Executive Director - World Council of Muslim Communities; Mr. Hasan Almarzouqi, Executive Director, World Council of Muslim Communities; Mr. Hazzaa Alqubaisi, Ministry of Presidential Affairs; Mrs. Abeer Makki, Executive Affairs Manager-Hedayah; Mr. Mubarak Alyafei, Personal Assistant of H.E. Mr. Ali Rashed Al Nuaimi.
The main focus of the meeting was to increase further cooperation between the World Headquarters, the Inter Religious Council and this Center, in the field of security and the fight against violent extremism.
Appreciating the friendly and very good relations between our two countries, the Grandfather expressed the importance of cooperation in security issues, emphasizing that continuous meetings and frequent dialogue are effective instruments in the fight against violent extremism, which also affect understanding for various issues.
Grandfather underlined the importance of preventing violent extremism, as a vital investment for peace and security, explaining that Albanian legislation and active policies of the Albanian government have helped and will help in the preventive aspect of the fight against radicalization and violent extremism. He also added that work in Albania to prevent the causes of terrorism is focused on combating violent extremism, preventing recruitment and radicalization, which leads to terrorism, and the work of religious communities is a key factor.
Among other things, in the meeting, the Grandfather spoke about the establishment of IRCA boards (executive, women, youth) humanitarian aid, the latest project with GCERF and for any program or project for the fight against extremism IRCA is open and cooperative, memorandum with CVE that we signed has been fruitful and will continue.
The President of the Hedayah Center, Ali Rasheed Al Nuaimi, presented the field of activity of the Center, which has as its main focus assistance in the fight against violent extremism, offering the expertise of this Center in this field. He praised the important role and commitment of Albania for stability in the region and for this reason he started his visit with Albania.
