The Ashura ceremony takes place at the headquarters of the World Bektashi Headquarter

Today, in the grounds of the Bektashi Holy See in Tirana, the traditional Ashura ceremony took place, which was organized after the tenth day of Matem's fast, in memory of the 72 martyrs, fighters of Karbala. This ceremony was prepared under the care of the Bektashian World Grandfather, His Holiness, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj. All the rites of this day's celebration were led by the World Grandfather of Bektashi Community.
In the Ashura ceremony, in addition to hundreds of believers and well-wishers from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Bektashi communities from different countries, clerics of different religious faiths, high dignitaries of state institutions in the country and representatives of the diplomatic corps of accredited in Albania. Among them were: the Ambassador of Ukraine to Albania; Apostolic Nuncio; Monsignor Dom Henry from the Catholic Church; Grace Asti of the Orthodox Church; Legal representative of the OSCE in Albania; Head of the Kadri Tariqat, Bujar Harasani; Head of the Rufai Tariqat, Sheh Qemaludin Reka; The Prefect of Tirana; Mayor of Tirana Erion Velia; businessman and publisher Irfan Hysenbelliu; Kaliopi Naska from the Albanian University-; Chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, etc...
First of all, in his greeting, the World Grandfather of Bektashi, wished and blessed those present at this celebration, making an appeal to 'do good deeds and always help others, especially in the difficult times that our world is living in'. .
"Dear participants, guests, faithful believers and clergy! Today we celebrate the day of Ashura, after ten days of mourning and fasting in honor of the fallen of Qebela. Such holidays unite not only believers, but all people, so it is important that they be spent in harmony and with loved ones. The festival of Ashura is a seemingly simple ceremony, but irreplaceable for our Bektashi tradition, which makes us more humane, kinder and more human. ...In this way, living together in our culture, with the difficulties that this world is going through, wars, murders, pandemics, teach us to share with each other, love, bitterness, sorrow and the burden of difficulties that life brings us. Start from awareness of yourself and do only good. Do only good and God will reward you. Fight bad habits and love life. The white souls of the martyrs of Karbala offer us his advice and virtues to walk on the path of truth in every concept of life..." - emphasized, among others, the Bektashian World Grandfather, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj.
Subsequently, Dede Edmond Brahimaj, received dignitaries and believers, enjoying together, ashura, the symbol of this marked day.
