Today, Monday, at 2 p.m., Matem closes and Ashurja is prepared, the ceremony of which will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in the premises of the Holy See of the World Bektashi Headquarter. In these 10 days of Matem, Bektashi clerics, myhibs and benefactors commemorated the days of mourning for Imam Hussein and the 72 martyrs of Karbala. The days of Matem, although they were a physical effort, but with a spiritual benefit, with values for all those who kept it (matem) in all the Bektashi Quarter of Albania, in the Balkans, diaspora and in all the Bektashi communities all over the world.
On this occasion, through a message, the Bektashi World Grandfather, His Holiness Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, thanks and blesses all Bektashi believers and benefactors everywhere, for more health, love and brotherhood, peace and wisdom, with the hope of the best, with unwavering faith in the Great God.
"As the World Grandfather of the Bektashis, I thank from the bottom of my heart my clerical brothers, myhibs, believers and well-wishers, who kept the 10 days of Matemi, in this spiritual sacrifice in commemoration of all the prophets, from Adam to Muhammad and the commemoration of Imam Hussein and the martyrs of Karbala. This year's math that we held together, apart from an increase in respect and adoration for our prophets, will serve us to increase our efforts and hope for better days, so that this turbulent time we are going through today, will change to the kahien of good, increasing faith in the boundless love for Our Creator.
