These days, on the occasion of the Sultan Nowruz holiday, in the "Art Gallery-93", on the street "Myslim Shyri" in Tirana, the Exhibition on Bektashism, by the painter Rakip Shabani, was opened, which was a special and meaningful innovation. Skillfully the painter, Rakip Shabani, has brought about 30 works, where spiritual leaders such as: father Rexhebi of the Detroit tekke in America, former Grandfather Ahmet Myftar Dede, father Hajdari of the Korça tekke and tekke, Kuzum Baba, Kaninë, Melcan. With his brush, he brought to this exhibition the geographical space of Bektashism in Albania, but also well-known personalities in the history of the Albanian people such as Skënderbeu, Ali Pasha Tepelena, etc.
On one of these days, the World Grandfather of the Bektashis, His Holiness, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahiamaj, accompanied by the well-known cinematographer, Kreshnik Harshova, visited the exhibition. Painter Rakipi- I welcome him and accompanied him to all the exhibits. Grandfather- I appreciate the many years of dedicated work of the painter Rakip Shabani. On this occasion, the painter presented the painting of Dede Ahmeti to the Grandfather.
In this exhibition, Rakip Shabani stands out as a master of his life's experience, with the ability to research the wonderful nature of our country, but also a connoisseur of the spiritual world of people. The great-grandfather congratulated him for this beautiful and special exhibition on the occasion of the Sultan Nowruz holiday and said: "You have the Bektashi spirit, of Bektashi mysticism. Your work is an elegant passion with its own color, which tempts you every time you look at it. Live long, always do better works! Congratulations!".
Dede Edmond Brahimaj- I invite the painter for a visit to the World Bektashi Headquarter , an invitation that the painter Shabani accepted with pleasure. Also, he asked the World Bektashi Grandfather to allow him to make a portrait of him.
Who is Rakip Shabani?
Rakip Shahini was born in 1943, in Dhemblan, Tepelena, but when he was a child, his parents moved to Vlora. He graduated from the Artistic Lyceum in 1964 and the Academy of Arts in 1974. He was honored with several national awards. 21 of his works have taken place in the National Gallery and 20 other works in the City Gallery of Vlora. The works of the painter Shahini have toured and are welcomed and liked everywhere in the world, such as in England, America, Argentina, Japan, Greece, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy. He has opened 37 personal exhibitions in the country and abroad.
He has been praised by prominent personalities. The great writer Ismail Kadare wrote in the book of the exhibition: "The exhibition of the painter Rakip Shabani is very beautiful. The hall looks more beautiful, bigger and happier from it. A person takes joy with him even when he leaves it".
