In the premises of the Papal Palace of Ananji, the Steering Council of the Scientific Committee and the Academic Senate, were invited among them, the Bektashi World Leader, His Grace, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj. The presence of professors, students of the Academy and especially of the Honorary President, His Eminence, Cardinal Jose Salavia Martins made even more sacred this afternoon, which the World Leader used to give a clearer picture of the situation in it which is Bektashism today, in more than 30 countries. He explained, among other things, that the role of this tariqat within the religious developments in Albania and the Balkans is not only worthy, but very unifying, always building bridges of peace and cooperation between different religions and faiths, as well as being in the forefront of protecting and furthering the heritage of Islam.
Afterwards, it was the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Academy, His Eminence Monsignor Enrico dal Covalo, who before handing over the high title, spoke about the Bektashi Holy See. This contribution, continued Monsignor Kovalo, consists in preserving the religious identity of Bektashism, as well as in enriching this identity with new inputs, in the contexts we go through, always relying on the love of God. He also stressed that the World Center of Bektashism in Tirana today has been able to identify with the purest manifestations of Islam, far from any climate of confrontation or radicalism. In the end he said that the Scientific Council and the Academic Senate, with decree no. 74/20, have the honor to award to His Grace, Brahimaj, Bektashi World Leader the international award Bonifacio VIII "For a culture of peace" and the honorary title of Academic senator with motivation: "For commitment, active, cultural and social contribution, for the realization of ideas, goals and values according to the ideas followed by the Bonifaciana Academy. ”
In his greeting, the Bektashi World Leader thanked for the great honor the president, senator and prominent intellectuals of the Academy in question, who with the organized event directly respected the long, eight-century journey of the tariqah, where, in addition to millions of believers, the contribution of thousands of dervishes and fathers around the world undoubtedly remains remarkable. He went on to say that such an honor is also the fruit of the survival of the Bektashi clergy, in the face of various religious contexts, in which we witnessed not only the deep devotion to the Creator, but also to the fates of the homeland and the nation. In the end, the Grandfather said: “I assure you, honorable guests, that this international award, despite being given to me personally, will constitute a program with a fuller vision, in many activities of the Bektashi Holy See, as in its doctrinal plane, as well as in numerous activities of a religious, scientific or social character. At the same time, today's honor will serve us to successfully face the challenges of today's civilizations.
