The month of Muharram succeeded, and with it the daily commemoration of the unfortunate event of Karbala.
For those of us who follow the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt, it has become pleasing to remember the ten days of torment for the children, women, the elderly and the men of the plain of Qabala with the ten-day fast of mourning.
Matem’s mourning and related ceremonies will be aggravated by the situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic. But the Bektashis have had even more difficult years and have not given up their faith.
The Bektashi World Headquarters The Holy See, respecting the decisions of the institutions of the Republic of Albania, for protection from the coronavirus, will not organize the respective ceremonies in the Square. But that does not stop him from performing the ceremonies in person.

On behalf of the Bektashi World Leader, His Grace Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, we call on us to fulfill our obligations, without endangering ourselves or others. So, in the Supreme Court, the reading of Hadika will not take place during the ten days of Matem, but we invite the believers to read Hadika daily in their homes.
