Condolence message of the Bektashi World Grandfather, Dede Edmond Brahimaj, on the death of Tomorr Alikos, the former General Secretary of the Bektashi Holy See.

The Bektashian World Grandfather, His Holiness Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, through a message, consoles the family, friends and friends of myhib Tomor Aliko, former General Secretary of the Bektashian World Grandfather in the period 1993-1994, who passed away yesterday ( June 29, 2022), at the age of 97, Tomorr Aliko.
In the message of Dede Edmond Brahimaj, among others, it is said: "We learned the bitter news and express our condolences, for the passing from this life, of Tomorr Alikos, the former General Secretary of the World Bektashi Headquarter , in the years 1993-1994. The life of Tomorr Alikos, former anti-communist political prisoner, prominent nationalist, former president of the Anti-Communist Association of the Politically Persecuted of Albania, writer, screenwriter, outstanding activist for the protection of freedoms and fundamental human rights, is a story of efforts , of outstanding sacrifices and endurance. He was born on July 10, 1925, in Libohova, Gjirokastra. At the age of 17, he joined the National Front. In 1945 he escaped to Greece, where he joined the Allied forces. After six months, he was caught at the border. On December 9, 1947, the Military Court of Tirana sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment and the loss of electoral rights for "Giving information to foreigners against the state". After serving his sentence, he was exiled for 29 years in Mamurras. It was released in 1991. Aliko is the author of several books, documentary films and many articles and interviews in the media, where we mention: "The end of the long road" (1999); "Half a century in the clutches of the devil" (Tirana, 2003); "Genocide on the intellectual elite of the Albanian nation under communist terror (Tirana, 2007); "Half-a-century genocide in Albania ("Emal", Tirana, 2010)". Tomorr Aliko is also the author of the script of the documentary film "The Disappearance of Albanian Intelligence during the years 1944-1951", produced by Albanian Public Television (2008). He helped Bektashism, as an active activist in the preparation of several photographic exhibitions on Bektashism and published the book: "Rebirth of Bektashism in Albania", Tirana, 2004; the documentary film "Bektashism in Albania" etc. He was a muhib, he took over from Grandfather Dede Reshat Bardhi, former General Secretary of the World Bektashi Grandfather in 1993-1995. Also, he helped in the preparation of the 6th Bektashi Congress in July 1993, as well as in the organization and the reopening of churches in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia. Aliko's funeral will take place today, 30.06, in his hometown, in Libohova.
