Today, October 8, 2021, the Lebanese General Abbas Ibrahim paid a visit to the Bektashi World Headquarters, the Holy See, in Tirana, where he was received by the Bektashi World Leader, His Holiness, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj.
General Ibrahim has made a valuable contribution to leading many rescue missions from Al-Holit's hell camp in Syria, and not just to many Albanians, including Alvin Berisha.
Grandfather Dede Edmond Brahimaj, after welcoming him, acquainted General Ibrahim with the spiritual journey of the Bektashis from 1930, when the World Center was established in Tirana until today, and also informed about the countless sacrifices of Bektashi clerics, their contribution to freedom and independence, as well as the wisdom to approach the Creator with devotion.
Dede Edmond Brahimaj, underlined the importance of preventing violent extremism, as a vital investment for peace and security, explaining that Albanian legislation and active policies of the Albanian government have helped and will help in the preventive aspect of the fight against radicalization and violent extremism.
Among other things, at the meeting, the Grandfather spoke about projects for the fight against extremism, where the Quarter of Bektashi Community are open and cooperative.
Afterwards, the visit continued in the premises of Odeon (religious-cultural center), where General Brahim got acquainted with the museum of Bektashism, the library, the archive, the photo library / phonotheque, the gallery, etc.
For his part, Lebanese General Abbas Ibrahim expressed satisfaction with the reception, highly appreciating the contribution of the Bektashi World Headquarters, both in the context of religious harmony, interfaith dialogue, and the challenges of freedom of religion and belief, which, can also be taken as a model from many other European countries.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Gledis Nano, General Director of the Albanian Police.
