Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Adha

The main ceremony, which was also attended by the World Grandfather His Grace Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj took place in the mosque of “Kokonoz” (New Bazaar), Tirana.

Like the Eid al-Fitr prayer, this year took place throughout the country, respecting a certain protocol in the framework of preventing the further spread of COVID-19.

The ceremony began with the occasional lecture given by the Vice President of the Muslim Community of Albania, Mr. Taulant Bica, who in his speech focused on the symbolism of this holiday by sharing with the believers present the event of the two prophets of God, Ibrahim (a.s) and Ismail (a.s) and the messages we should transmit from it.

Further, the ceremony continued with the prayer of Eid al-Adha by the Leader of the Muslim Community of Albania, H. Bujar Spahiu.

Eid al-Adha is the joy of the individual and society, it is a symbol of heroism, sacrifice, sincerity, piety and devotion to God. It is the sharing of this joy between people and it is the entrance to the climate of positive spiritual feelings. Celebrating this holiday gives Muslims a special emotion, a new spirit, in their religious and worldly affairs. During this holiday Muslims give the most beautiful example of union and unity.

Other leaders of the country’s Islamic tariqat were also present at the Eid al-Adha prayer ceremony.

At the end of this ceremony, the believers present exchanged numerous congratulatory messages between them.
