On Monday, 17 November 2025, Ms. Irit Amitai, Director of the Western Balkans Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, and the Ambassador of Israel to Albania, H.E. Ms. Galit Peleg, conducted an official visit to the World Bektashi Headquarters, the Holy See.
The Israeli representatives were welcomed by the World Leader of the Bektashi Order, His Holiness Haxhi Dede Baba Edmond Brahimaj, who accompanied them throughout their visit.
They had the opportunity to visit the Odeon, the Museum, and the Library of the Headquarters, where they became acquainted with the history, traditions, and cultural, educational, and spiritual activities of Bektashism.
During the visit, discussions focused on the role of the World Bektashi Headquarters as a center promoting peace, harmony, and interfaith coexistence, as well as on the shared values that connect religious communities in the region.
The meeting reinforced the importance of interreligious and intercultural dialogue and cooperation, and was considered an important step towards deepening the friendly relations between the Headquarters and Israeli state institutions.
