The President of the Republic, H.E. Ilir Meta received today in a meeting the Interreligious Council of Albania, to discuss the situation after the earthquake of November 26 and the consequences not only material but also spiritual of the citizens in the areas affected by this natural disaster.
President Meta thanked the Leaders of the Religious Communities for their immediate response, being close to the people in these difficult moments and appreciated their irreplaceable material, spiritual, moral and psychological support.
"Your role for spiritual recovery, restoration of hope, strengthening solidarity and courage in overcoming the most difficult moments that our people have gone through and are going through is very valuable", - underlined President Meta.
"The tragic situation and this serious humanitarian crisis for our entire society should serve as a moment not only of reflection but also of reconciliation to stand together in building a future of peace, hope and love, as a new beginning that the country should be rebuilt, not only materially, but also spiritually and psychologically ", - was the joint message of the Presidents of the Religious Communities in the meeting with the President of the Republic.
The Head of State requested that all cult objects damaged by the earthquake be verified and identified, in order to enable their return to the service of citizens and society as soon as possible.
