The Cooperation Institute for Integration and Development in cooperation with the religious communities of our country, held today in the premises of the "National Historical Museum" the activity entitled: "Religion in society: The Albanian model".
This event, which will continue with other activities between religious communities in the next two days, aims to promote and cultivate a remarkable and distinct value of Albanian society, coexistence in the diversity of Albanian religious communities in harmony, peace and integrity.
In today's meeting were present the highest representatives of the religious communities of the country, such as the President of the Muslim Community of Albania, H. Bujar Spahiu, the Archbishop of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, His Beatitude Anastas Janullatos, the President of the Episcopal Conference of Albania , Archbishop of Tirana - Durrës, Mons. George Frendo, representative of the Bektashi Headquarter ,the President of the Evangelical Brotherhood of Albania, Pastor Ylli Doçi, the general secretary of the Interfaith Council Dr. Genti Kruja, Apostolic Nuncio in Tirana Charles John Brown, Director of the National Historical Museum Dr. Dorian Koçi, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities from Bedër University Prof. Assoc. Rahim Ombashi, Deputy Mayor of Tirana, as well as senior representatives of various institutions.
The event opened with the recitation of the Grand Master Mirush Kabashi, continuing with the greeting words of the organizers, the Executive Director of ICID Albania, Prof. Assoc. Reis Mulita, as well as with the reference of the heads of religious communities. The event was also greeted by the Chairwoman of the State Committee for Cults, Mrs. Loreta Aliko, director of Archives Mr. Ardit Bido, as well as other representatives from various public institutions, such as the Municipality of Tirana and Kurbin.
The activity continued with the reference of the above-mentioned leaders who touch once again the most precious asset of our country, interfaith harmony, as a model to convey ready to the world, seen in the respective perspectives of the five representatives of the communities of various religious.
At the end of the activity, the participants visited in the premises of the National Museum the exhibition of interfaith beliefs and values of Albania over the years, where all religious communities had their stand, where items of historical value, carefully preserved during the communist period were exhibited, as well as photographs provided by the Central State Archive regarding interfaith coexistence over the years in Albania.
