The Bektashi World Grandfather, Dede Edmond Brahimaj, participates in the Ashura Ceremony in Turan, Korça

Yesterday, on August 16, 2022, the Bektashian Quarter of Korça, under the auspices of the Bektashian World Grandfather, His Holiness Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, organized the traditional ceremony, on the occasion of the Ashura holiday. The Mayor of Korçë, Mr. Sotiraq Filo, high authorities, leaders of religious communities in Korça, believers and others present.
The Grandfather of the World, Dede Edmond Brahimaj, in the speech of the occasion, among other things, said: "The ceremony of Ashura is a seemingly simple ceremony, but irreplaceable for our Bektashian tradition... We fasted together for nine days of math, we talked and followed together the tragic events of Karbala. We remembered and brought to mind the sublime act of the 72 martyrs and the immortal knight Imam Hussein, peace be upon him. We have seen and talked about the extent to which evil and human wickedness embodied in Yezidi and Mavija can go. May the curse of the Most High be upon them and their followers! And our appeal remains, more kindness, peace, love and unity between people, regardless of race, color, idea or religion".
Also, ashura, which is the special dessert that takes the name of this day, was distributed to all those present.
Such holidays unite not only believers, but all people, so it is important that they be spent in harmony and with loved ones.
