Today, on July 8, 2021, the director of UNHCR in Albania, Mr. Pablo Zapata, representative of CARITAS Mrs. Ariela Mitri and UNHCR collaborator Mr. Showvik DasTamal, paid a visit to the Bektashi World Headquarters, where they were received by the Bektashi World Grandfather, His Holiness, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj.
The meeting discussed Bektashism, the history of this Tariqat, the activity of the Bektashi Holy See, the role of Bektashism in strengthening interfaith harmony and coexistence, progress and challenges encountered, as well as a presentation of UNHCR activities and rehabilitation work of refugees coming from different parts of the world.
It was also discussed about the cooperation that the Bektashi World Headquarters and the Interfaith Council will have on an ongoing basis with the UNHCR.
At the end of this meeting, the representatives of UNHCR, paid a visit to the premises of the Odeon (religious-cultural center), where they got acquainted with the museum of Bektashism, library, archive, gallery, etc.
