The Day of Ashura is celebrated in Arabati-Baba township in North Macedonia

Yesterday, in the village of Harabati-Baba in Northern Macedonia, at the traditional Ashura holiday, which is held at the end of Matem. The ceremony took place under the care of the Bektashi World Grandfather, His Holiness, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj. For this marked day, the locals had taken all the measures, while in this ceremony, there were clerics, monks and believers from North Macedonia, Bektashi believers and many well-wishers and from Kosovo, Albania and the diaspora.
Dede Edmond Brahimaj led the traditional rites. In his greeting, he congratulated all those who kept Matem, evoking the details of the tragic events of Karbala centuries ago, as well as the messages that they have conveyed and continue to convey among generations of Bektashi believers, everywhere in the world.
