With a special ceremony, in one of the flower gardens of the city of Vlora, facing the sea, was inaugurated the Hasan Prishtina memorial today, May 7, 2022, this event organized under the care of the Mayor of Vlora, Mr. Dritan Leli.
Present at the inauguration ceremony were the Bektashi World Grandfather, His Holiness, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj; grandson of Hasan Prishtina, Mehmet Prishtina; Minister of Defense of Kosovo, Armend Mehaj; The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama; The Mayor of Drenas and the Ambassador of Kosovo to Albania Skëndër Durmishi.
The grandson of the national hero, among other things, said that, with the installation of the Hasan statue in Pristina, his legacy has been fulfilled.
The participants in the event cited that the national hero did not belong only to Kosovo, but to all of Albania. Hasan Prishtina was born in Vushtrri, in 1873, while he was killed in an assassination attempt, on August 13, 1933, in Thessaloniki. Prishtina was an outstanding patriot who fought for the freedom and independence of Kosovo, as well as for its union with Albania.
The memorial of the hero Hasan Prishtina is located near the Palace of Culture "Labëria" in Vlora. In front of him is the statue of Ismail Qemali, a symbol of national unity.
