The rites of 40 days of passing from the life of father Mumin Lama, gathered in the famous tekke of Gjakova on Thursday, March 11, 2021, many clerics and believers from Kosovo, Albania, Northern Macedonia, from the Headquarters of the Bektashi World Headquarters and from the Dedelik and groups of Bektashi believers, from various European countries and beyond. There were also leaders and representatives of local institutions, representatives of other religions and the benevolent clergyman passed from life. The rites of this day were led by the Bektashi World Leader, His Grace, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj.
“Our brother, father Mumin Lama, President of the Bektashi Community of the Republic of Kosovo, left the material world to join the pure souls, leaving behind the example of devotion, to the path of Haxhi Bektash Veliu, valuable religious contribution of the patriot of our peaceful faith. I thank and bless all of you who today, have come here in the rites of remembrance of Father Mumin Lama, wishing you more peace, kindness, love, hope and faith in the Great God! Father Mumin Lama, left this life, leaving behind patriotic religious and contribution to the glorious tekke of Gjakova and beyond, a contribution which will be kept alive and enriched by us clerics, his brothers, myhib and believers of Gjakova and all of Kosovo… “- affirmed, among others, the Bektashi World Leader, Dede Edmond Brahimaj.
Other participants in the development of the rites of this day, like many of them, left heartfelt words in the relevant book of Dedelik of Gjakova.
… Father Mumin Lama was born on June 1, 1949 in Gjakova, from a well-known family of the Bektashi faith. In 1987, he was accepted as myhib by father Tajari. As he displayed high moral, national and religious values, in 1993, his father, Tajari, promoted Mumin Lama ‘Dervish’. After the death of father Tajari in 1994, the members of the Gjakova Tekke decided that the chosen leader should be a dervishes Mumin Lama. In 1996, based on the rules of the Bektashi Order, Father Mumin Lama was appointed postmaster of the Gjakova tekke by His Holiness, father Haxhi Dede Reshat Bardhi. Father Mumini was put in charge of the tekke of Gjakova, in difficult times for Kosovo. The 90s of the 20th century, stood out in history for the comprehensive violence of the Serbian regime against the Albanian population; institutions and schools were closed. But, Father Mumini, recognizing the Bektashi tradition and that of the tekke he led, committed to turn this religious temple into a center for religious-cultural-artistic-historical manifestations, and at the same time gave the tekke for school, for the graduates of the gymnasium of Gjakova. The Bektashi tekke of Gjakova, led by Father Mumin Lama, was attacked by the regular Serbian army, which burned it on May 7, 1999. Thus, relics and artifacts of extraordinary value were destroyed, and the library holding treasures was burned from all over the world (many of them were pearl manuscripts that never return). This was the fate of the tombs of the fathers in Gjakova. After the war in Kosovo, the tekke was rebuilt in 2007, with the help of the Government of Kosovo, funded by the friendly countries, as well as the income of the Bektashi tekke of Gjakova.
Our brother, Father Mumini, was widely known for his calmness, wisdom, and generosity. He showed respect for every human being, he stood up with consideration for both children and the elderly. He did not distinguish people into elements that differentiate, but he considered these to be riches of the essence of being human.
The separation from this life of our brother, father Mumin Lamaj, is a loss for all Bektashi believers everywhere in the world, at the same time an obligation to work harder, together with the myhibs, the clergy, the benevolent believers, to take it further. the religious and patriotic mission of father Mumin Lama, in the famous tekke of Gjakova.
Baba Mumin be our light that guides us to the pure path of the Ahl al-Bayt!
The funeral ceremony of father’s father Mumin Lamaj took place on January 27, 2021.
