It is a day of remembrance and respect for the bright and unforgettable human and divine work, of the symbol of the Albanian mother, of the extraordinary example of love and the unceasing mission of caring, for anyone who suffers and needs help so much.
With her majesty and simplicity, St. Mother Teresa is the inspiration that drives us every day to do small things with great love, to open new horizons of hope and happiness.
We, are not, just a people, small, nameless and unheard because we have given to the whole world, such a Great MOTHER, the symbol of love, to human savagery, the barbarity of the century. We have given to the world, a new vision, for life, human society, the great galley of nations, we have built for the whole world, the civilization of human love, freedom, peace, humanism and prosperity, everywhere, for all, in the world today .
From her birth, on August 26, 1910, God testified of His love. One day after her birth, Mother Teresa was baptized, in the church of the heart of Christ, by the patriotic parish priest, the patriot, Don Zef Ramaj, a day which, she counted, as her birthday. Gonxhja was the third child in the family of Kol Bojaxhiu, from Prizren and Drane Bojaxhiu (maiden name Bernaj from Novo Sella, Gjakova).
Her father was engaged in trade, but as an Albanian, he was guided by the patriotic and national idea. He often organized meetings and gatherings with Albanian patriots, on national issues, which was not well received by the Serbian-Macedonian secret service. Very soon, in 1919, Kola would be poisoned, making possible the cessation of his patriotic activity and leaving only 8-year-old Gonxhe. On January 1, 1918, according to the Treaty of Versailles, Skopje would be taken from Albania and passed to Macedonia. Gonxhja received her first lessons in an Albanian school in Skopje, where she also completed high school, but in Serbo-Croatian.
She took the name Teresa when she was 18 and surrendered as a nun. Mother Teresa left Skopje for the last time on September 26, 1928, for Dublin, Ireland. From that day on, mother, daughter and sister would never be seen again. September 12, 1928, she wrote a letter to her aunt: “Skopje september, 12.1928: Aunt Lis's, On the 26th of this month, I am leaving Skopje. I can not write two or three lines to you. Goodbye, I want God to give you everything your heart desires. I want to forgive you the most heartfelt things, Gonxhe. "
