Building the Odeon
The idea for the construction of the Odeon at the Headquarters of the Bektashi World Headquarters originated in 1960, with the initiative of World Leader Ahmet Dede Miftari. The aim was to build a multi-functional facility for the history of Bektashism in nearly 8 centuries, the patriotic traditions of this faith and their transmission from generation to generation to the faithful. Meanwhile, the special merit for the project and the start of works, belongs to Dede Reshat Bardhi, who was and remains the cleric who revived this belief in the Albanian space and much wider of this belief after the changes in 1990. Meanwhile, the current World Leader, has the merit of full realization of the project, realizing the legacy of its predecessors. So, three years ago, this multi-functional cult object was built and inaugurated. The Odeon is conceived, designed and built as a unique work of its kind in the world. It is a unique shrine for believers. The building is a multifunctional complex which includes, among others, the museum of Bektashism, library, reading room, archive facilities, media room, and other ancillary facilities. Meanwhile, an upcoming project envisions launching a radio.
When it comes to this important facility built with the contribution of the faithful and partial funding from the state, one should not forget the direct contribution of Bektashi clerics, benevolent businessmen and hundreds of believers.
