He has painted and exhibited in the most important galleries of the world, but now in this moment of life, he is donating his paintings.
After Skopje, Pristina, it is Tirana's turn. The paintings will remain in the permanent gallery that bears his name near the Museum of the World Headquarters of Bektashism.
Today, in a special ceremony, at the Bektashi World Headquarters, under the direct care of the World Grandfather, His Grace Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, in a special pavilion, the gallery of the prominent painter, great master, Mr. Omer Kaleshi. On this solemn day honored with their participation and prominent personalities from various fields such as Mrs. Suzana Jahollari - Prefect of Tirana Region, Mr. Besnik Mustafaraj, z. Moikom Zeqo, z. Luan Rama etc.
Omer Kaleshi is known everywhere in the world as the "head painter", and Dervishes, shepherds and ordinary people make up the largest and most important part of his works. One after another they appear in his fabrics with their mystical world, the paintings are as simple as the life of the dervishes and represent a magnificent wealth within this simplicity.
The message of his works is that the prejudices and differences of people on religious, ethnic or national grounds must be stopped. He invites all Albanians and not only to visit his exhibition.
There was also the appreciation from the Grandfather, who described this historic day for Bektashism.
Omer Kaleshi is the author of a cycle of five hundred painted portraits, while his exhibitions have been promoted in prestigious Parisian institutions, as well as in many other cities around the world.
The painter was a guest character in the show "Wonderful Albanians" by journalist Rudina Xhunga, where he told his whole life from Kercova in northern Macedonia to Paris, where he has lived for many decades.
