On Sunday, August 28, 2022, the Bektashian World Grandfather, His Holiness, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, participated in the traditional annual pilgrimage, in the tekke of Kreshova, Kolonja, a day which also coincided with the 122nd anniversary of its foundation.
On this marked day, in addition to the residents of the area, who have been away from this area for years and decades, immigrants who came on vacation to their homeland, believers and well-wishers from different regions of the country, as far as North Macedonia and Kosovo, had also arrived. The Mayor of Kolonje, Mr. Erion Isai, local leaders, etc.
In his welcoming speech, World Grandfather Bektashian evoked the history of this ancient tekke, the role of dervishes and fathers who have worked in this tekke for decades and centuries, as well as the work being done by the Grandmother of Korça to preserve these values, their enrichment.
"...I am happy to be here today, in the most historic tekke of Kreshovo, among the myhibs and believers of this area, friends and well-wishers, and as the World Grandfather of the Bektashians, I greet you and bless you for your piety and dedication, becoming part of such activities, which further increase and strengthen faith in the Great God, cooperation and fraternal unity, which strengthen human peace in these difficult times we are going through. By talking to each other, increasing our hope in God, for better days, we get closer to what we seek, peace and harmony. May health and goodness in your families! God bless you! " - said, among others, in his greeting, Dede Edmond Brahimaj.
Founded in the middle of the 19th century, by Hasan Babai, in 1900, the Kreshova teqe would attract thousands of believers, who saw in the Bektashi tariqat, the natural unity of faith in God and love for the country.
The teqe of Kreshovo, joined in its mission other famous teqes, such as those of Qesaraka, Leskovik, Starje, etc., opening the doors not only for the Bektash believers, but also for those patriots who, with rifle and pen, wrote the epic of glorious of our centuries-old striving for autonomy and prosperity.
