Pilgrimage, the day of Sari Salltik on the Selgjik mountain of Lazarat – Gjirokastra (XIII century)

The Holy Place, Selgjike (Sarisalltik) is located in the west of Gjirokastra, the side of the mountain Sopot above Lazarat, Selgjike, Administrative Unit Lazarat, Municipality of Gjirokastra.
The Sarisalltik Holy Place, the inhabitants of the area visited early, went and prayed and performed the ritual in Sarisalltik worship. From historical documents, documentaries from the XIII century the missionaries of Haxhi Bektash Veliu have spread Islam and the ideas of Bektashism. One of them is Sarisalltiku, who speaks not only documents but also folk tales and songs. The south has three interesting points with holy places: Çuka of Abaz Ali Tomorri, Kurora e Malit Sevaster, Selgjike in Sopoti mount above the village Lazarat of Gjirokastra. The peculiarity of these places is that they see from the east, The two southern points, that of the Crown and that of Selgjika are the view towards Tomorri, they communicate with Father Tomorri. The old elders of Lazarat show that Sarisalltik stayed in Selgjike with his two dervishes from where he communicated with Abaz Ali Tomorri and the song says: Sari Salltik in Seljika / He spoke with Abaz Ali./ A sun as beautiful as a toast / He glanced at Tomorri.
His traces are known to the people, near Seljika even today there are two holy places, Rista, and the Great Mercy, which are considered the places of the two dervishes who accompanied Sarisalltik, who later passed to Saranda and Corfu. The pilgrimage is annual on September 10th.
