
On Friday, August 14, 2026, Ms. Olivia Maigret, Political Affairs Officer at the Embassy of the United States of America in Tirana, paid a courtesy visit to the Holy See of the World Bektashi Headquarters, where she was also received by His Holiness Haxhi Dede Baba Edmond Brahimaj, World Bektashi Leader.
The visit took place in the framework of ongoing institutional communication and relations, providing an opportunity for an open exchange on the spiritual, cultural, and social values that promote mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among people and communities.
During the meeting, the World Bektashi Leader introduced Ms. Maigret to the history and tradition of Bektashism, as well as to its rich spiritual and cultural heritage. Particular attention was given to the role that the World Bektashi Headquarters has played, and continues to play, in promoting peace, tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and social harmony.
The discussion focused on shared values that bring people together beyond religious, cultural, or social differences, including respect, tolerance, understanding, and peaceful coexistence.
