Pilgrimage to the tekke of Backa – Skrapar

Today, the Bektashi World Headquarters, the Holy See, in cooperation with the Skrapar Dedelik, under the special care of the Bektashi World Grandfather, His Grace Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, conducted the annual pilgrimage to the Backa tekke in Skrapar.
Grandfather’s full speech:
Bismilahi Rrahmani Rrahim!
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful!
May the Almighty God, our twelve Imams and the wisdom of Haji Bektash Veliu help you and your families!
There is nothing happier for us clergy, when we see the courtyards of the tekkes filled with believers and benefactors, coming from ancient Skrapar. Because your coming to the tekke, is not only an act of respect for the history of the Bektashi order, but also a clear proof that our faith in God is coming awakening and reviving.
The blessed day of the opening of this tekke, 150 years ago, leads us to the years of our national consciousness, to those years when the fathers of the nation were realizing that the five-century tyranny had to be thrown away an hour ago, to rank our Albania in the great European family, in our natural genesis. The flourishing of the Backa tekke coincides with the heroic years of the Albanian League of Prizren, with the struggle to rule over the fate of the nation and the creation of the first freedom squads.
Built in its first steps, by the prominent patriot and religious father Fetah Xhelaj from the village of Koldij in Gjirokastra, the Backa tekke gathered around itself patriots with the voice of Skrapar, aware of the mission they would carry on their shoulders. Father Fetahu, in whose honor a bust-sculpture was inaugurated today, with the deep erudition for the Bektashi order, increased the spiritual dimension of this cult object, in which case, his myhib came from Kolonja of Përmeti. Gradually the Backa tekke, grew and turned into one of the amazing Bektashi objects. In particular, the monumental double-headed eagle, carved in stone at the entrance gate of the tekke, the eagle of Skanderbeg’s flag, showed that Albanian Bektashism preserved and inherited the highest principles of Muhammad Ali, of Haku Street.
We could have celebrated this happy day differently for everyone, but the Bektashis have had and still have in their tradition and practice, respect for the law of the state, wherever they live and work. The pandemic that is going on all over the world is only temporarily separating us physically, to unite us more spiritually.
God bless you all!
Amin!
